Joy Navin, age 85, passed away at her home in Wickenburg, Az on February 11, 2014. She was born March 12, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur & Beatrice Goldberg.
She was raised and attended schools in Chicago, attending the pretigious Chicago Art Institute.
She later lived in California where she found her passion in training and grooming dogs. After coming to Wickenburg in 1978 she continued her dog training, working with dog obedience and specializing in training therapy dogs. One of her programs was children's literary therapy through the use of dogs. She would often organize dog snake breaking clinics to train dogs to stay clear of snakes. She was well known for her ability to work and care for dogs.
Joy was preceded in death by her brother Ron Goldberg and she is survived by her husband Martin "Marty" Navin of Wickenburg and daughters Linda (Rob) Zimring of Woodland Hills, Ca., and Jody Shaffer of Windsor, Ca., and grandchildren: Jason & Julia Sperling and Teri Zimon and great-grandchildren: Hannah, Natalie & Wil Sperling and Zoe & Charlotte Zimon.
