Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, February 12, 2014 >>> Aug. 23, 1921— Jan. 19, 2014 <<< Charlotte Amelia Jones-Ebbitt passed away at her home in Lake Havasu City at the age of 92, surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 23, 1921 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Walter and Mabel (Pertain) Jones. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Gilbert Ebbitt and her daughter, Patricia Ann Ricci. Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth and husband Donald Gunnarsson, of Lake Havasu City, Charlotte Arminante, of Staten Island, N.Y.; sons, Walter and wife Carol Ebbitt, of Ronkonkoma, N.Y and Peter and wife Patricia Ebbitt, of Boca Raton, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Charlotte had a real love of art and design, showing her love for her family with her paintings, designing and sewing wedding dresses for her grandchildren and making numerous dresses, dolls and blankets for those she loved. After Charlotte and her husband retired to Florida from Hauppague, N.Y. she went back to school and became licensed practical nurse, starting her second career. Charlotte moved to Lake Havasu City in 1984 where she resided for the rest of her life. A Celebration of Charlotte’s Life is scheduled for Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army Chapel on Swanson Ave. with Major Larry Feist officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Havasu or the Salvation Army.
