Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona Raymond William Duffy January 25, 1932 ~ February 11, 2014 Raymond William Duffy, 82, died February 11, 2014 with his wife by his side. He was born January 25, 1932 in Borough of Queens, NY to Raymond Vincent & Elizabeth Victoria (Bradbury) Duffy. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret, his son Raymond (Kathleen), and his daughter Diana (Peter) Downs. Ray loved to play bridge, travel and work. Ray lived a full life of 82 years and 17 days. ~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Thursday, March 06, 2014 In loving memory of Raymond William Duffy, who departed this world on Feb. 11, 2014. Ray was born in 1932 in New York, N.Y., the eldest son of Raymond and Victoria Duffy. Ray is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret (Buz) Duffy; son Raymond V. Duffy and spouse Kathleen; daughter Diana Downs and spouse Peter; brothers William and Gerald; and sister Grace Burkhardt. His brother Vincent preceded him in death. Ray graduated from high school in Teaneck, N.J., and served four years in the Navy aboard an aircraft carrier. Ray and Buz met and were married in 1953. Ray graduated from Rutgers University in 1957 with a degree in electrical engineering. In 1957, Raymond Vincent joined the family followed by Diana in 1959. In 1964, Ray and Buz started RW Duffy and Associates, a company that sold electrical distribution equipment. In 1997, they retired and the company was divided among two employees. Two years later, they moved to Prescott, Ariz. Ray was a wonderful husband, son, father, brother and friend. The world will be a little smaller without his good cheer, warm smile and loving grace. A memorial service will be on March 22, 2014, at First Congregational Church, 216 E. Gurley St., Prescott, at 11 a.m., followed by lunch at noon. Information provided by survivors.
