Brandon Moore, our sweet angel, went home to his Heavenly Father on Feb. 12, 2014. He was born Jan. 14, 1982, in Kirkland, Wash., to Dave and Laura (Winiecke) Moore. He was born with the largest spina bifida opening in the 100-plus year history of Children's Hospital in Seattle, Wash., where he was transported within hours of his birth.
Fighting tremendous odds, he surprised everyone by not only surviving, but becoming a sweet, loving, funny young man with a personality that endeared him to everyone he met.
He was blessed with a near-death experience in September 2013 when he entered the hospital at YRMC with pneumonia. His beautiful and touching experience has touched so many lives. He was told by his Heavenly Father that it was not his time and was sent back to be with us. His mission has now been accomplished and he is free of his earthly bonds.
Besides his parents, he leaves behind his brother David; and sister-in-law Daphne Moore of Prescott; sisters Valerie Moore of Duvall, Wash., and Tiffany Barentine and Bethany Moore of Tempe, Ariz.; nieces Kayleigh and Madison; his numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his special "Uncle" Willie Stoffers; his kind and loving friend Richard Bailey; and coach Al Dattola.
He also leaves the most incredible staff and loving friends at Yavapai Exceptional Industries and all the wonderful people from DDD who have taken care of him over the years, with a special love for his nurse Sherri Reid.
He had such a wonderful medical team, with a special thank-you to Dr. Jeffrey Sanwick for your love and support.
We will see you again, sweet son. We love and miss you so much.
His memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Prescott Christian Church, 501 S. Senator Highway in Prescott. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Yavapai Exceptional Industries, 436 N. Washington Ave., Prescott, AZ 86301.
