He was 60 years old. He leaves behind: a spouse, Marsha; and two children, Sandra and Christopher, with seven grandchildren. He served in the United States Navy from 1971 to 1975, aboard the USS Jallao and USS Salmon during Vietnam. He joined the Naval Reserve in 1975 and cross rated over to the Sea Bees from 1977 to 2001.
