TRAVERS, George Kingston

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/18/2014 George Kingston Travers, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low. He was born Jan. 25, 1923, in San Diego, Calif., to Joseph Travers and Doris Geack Travers. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. He was married to his loving wife for 63 years. He loved a good steak or prime rib. He was an avid pilot who loved to fly planes. George served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a lifelong member of the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Doris; two children: Shirlene Taylor and Michael Travers; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Myrtle Moores. There are no public services scheduled at this time. Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel of Show Low handled arrangements.
