The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Tuesday, February 18, 2014 Wilma "Pat" Atha, died Feb. 13, 2014, at her home in Cottonwood AZ, with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 18, 1920, to Arthur and Edith Larson in Colby, Kansas. In 1957, she moved with her husband, Harold Atha, to Flagstaff. While raising their seven children, she was assistant to Dr. Todd Lawrence, working with him 40 years in total. Pat was preceded in death by her husband; their sons, Kent and Teddy Atha; and her twin brother, Wilbur Larson. Survivors include her children, DeAnn (Wayne) Dutt of Las Vegas; Peggy Cummings of Sierra Leone, Africa; Don Atha of Cottonwood; Doug (Sherry) Atha of Rimrock; and Carol Vernon of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was a strong, loving matriarch who delighted in her family. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Mountain View United Methodist Church, 901 S. 12th St., Cottonwood, 86326.
