Ruth Catherine Stapleton, age 81, passed away Jan. 14, 2014 in Kingman, after a long and difficult battle with COPD. She was born Aug. 29, 1932 in Mullan, Idaho to George and Elena (Mann) Paice.
Prior to relocating to Lake Havasu City 17 years ago, Ruth ran the Dixie Dance in Lake City, Ark. She was an active Eastern Star member when residing in Butte, Mont. She loved the desert, roadrunners, roses and dogs. She spent hours watching Arizona Diamondbacks baseball; she also enjoyed watching Olympic gymnastics and ice-skating; she avidly read books and solved crossword puzzles.
Ruth is survived by her five daughters, Zana Stafford, of Lake Havasu City, Zondra Hanni, of King City, Ore., Zale Hoffenbacker (Dwight), of Portland, Ore., Arnetta Johnson (Steve), of LaDera Ranch, Calif. and Elena Searles, of Sanford, Maine; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be in the Chapel of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m.
