RANDALL, Richard C. (Rich)


Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Richard C. Randall (August 3, 1918 - February 17, 2014) Richard C. Randall was born August 3, 1918 in Joseph City, Arizona. He passed away February 17, 2014 at the age of 95. He graduated from Holbrook High School where he was active in sports and student affairs. On the 24th of May 1939, he married his high school sweetheart, Fontella Tanner in the L.D.S. Temple at Mesa, Arizona. Their union produced six children-Richard Kent, Robert Clair, William Kay, Elizabeth Ann, Michael Paul and Doris Eileen. Rich and Fontella nurtured their children in Winslow and were proud of their accomplishments in Winslow's Grade Schools, Junior High and High School as well as in the Mormon Church. Rich and Fontella were married 47 years before her passing on March 10, 1986. Rich was always active and involved in his work as a Locomotive Engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad and in the Winslow community. He served as an Officer and President of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers for many years. He was married to Mary Rebecca Walton on the 3rd of November, 1988. They enjoyed 18 years of marriage until Mary's death in 2007. Rich was well known for his work in the Winslow Historical Society, Old Trails Museum, AARP and the Senior Center, all of which he served as President or Chairman of the Board. He was named as Winslow's Citizen of the Year and was Grand Marshall of the Christmas Parade. His hard work and giving nature will be missed. Rich left a legacy of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many many friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert and is survived by sons Kent (Judy), Bill (Shauna), Mike (Sheila) and daughters Betty Rogers and Doris Wilcox plus many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. We miss you papa Rich and pray for your everlasting life in Heaven. A visitation will take place Monday, February 24th at 9:00 am followed by funeral services at 10:00 am, both at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1501 N. Kinsley Ave., Winslow, AZ.
