GALE, Earl Lee


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, February 23, 2014 - Earl Lee Gale, a long-time resident of Pendleton, Ind. and Lake Havasu City, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was born in Anderson, Ind., Jan. 7, 1936 to Vicus E. Gale and Estelle (Stratton) Gale. After graduating from Pendleton High School in Pendleton, Ind. in 1954, Earl attended Frankton College in Indiana. In 1980, the family moved to Lake Havasu City, where they resided until 2005, when they moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to family. Family, friends and jazz music were extremely important to Earl. He was involved with the Pikes Peak Jazz and Swing Society as a member of their board of directors. He is survived by a son, Mike (wife, Tricia) of Colorado Springs; daughter, Debbie Stuntz (husband, Jerry) of Phoenix; son, Tom (wife Heather) of Port Townsend, Wash.; five grandchildren, Hillary Gale, Katie (Gale) Driml of Colorado Springs; Tyler Stuntz of Tucson; Wil and Ruby Gale of Port Townsend, Wash.; and two great grandchildren, Ellyana Jewell and Rylan Driml of Colorado Springs; a brother, Charles (wife, Roberta) Curtis of San Diego, Calif. and sister, Nancy (husband, Larry) Mechem of Noblesville, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anne (Brady) Gale, in 2008; three sisters and three brothers. Visitation took place Thursday, Feb. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mountain View Mortuary 2350 Montebello Square Drive, Colorado Springs. Services followed at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
