The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/28/2014 Gary Ray Hill, 67, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in St. Johns. He was born Feb. 12, 1947, in Waldron, Ark., the son of Robert Murrel Hill and Alice Minnie Hansen Hill. Gary served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965-68. He was a diesel mechanic for Cummins and retired in 1996. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved being a diesel mechanic, “our grease monkey,” and building engines. Gary enjoyed watching drag races and John Wayne movies. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and loving heart. “We love you, Dad.” Gary is survived by his wife, Nadra Jeanne Hill of St. Johns; sons: Daniel of St. Johns, Robert (Katrina) of St. Johns, Gary (Brandie) of Eagar, Christopher (Jessica) of Eagar, Tyson (Tracy) of Bloomfield, N.M., daughter Janie (Lee) Frieberg of Rio Rancho, N.M.; mother-in-law Betty Lund; brother Eddie Hill; sisters Lynn Wennes and Lynda Spears; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murrel and Alice Hill; father-in-law Irl Lund and many more friends and family. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Burnham Mortuary in Eagar. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at the Eagar Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Eagar, with visitation one hour prior.
