Alice Simmons Moody, 80, died Jan. 21, 2014, at the Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix. She was born Alice Quiver on May 3, 1933, on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

Alice spent many years living in Holbrook before moving briefly to Albuquerque, N.M., and finally residing in Phoenix for the last 20 years.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, and her parents, Dennis and Agnes (Badwound) Quiver.

She is survived by her children: Vivian Gabaldon of Albuquerque, N.M., Jeanette (Jerry) Garlinger of Phoenix, Walter Quigley of Phoenix, Doreen Simmons-Henry of Victoria, Texas, Irene Simmons of Albuquerque, N.M., Floyd Simmons (Sonya) of Show Low and Francine Simmons-Moore (Tim) of Peoria. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
