Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Virginia L. Franke (January 9, 1929 - March 1, 2014) Virginia L. Franke of Flagstaff and Prescott, Arizona passed away March 1st, 2014, surrounded by her family and her dog Becky. As per Virginia’s wishes, no services will be held. Virginia was born to Solen Cuthbert Morgan and Daisy Bell Futrell Morgan on January 09, 1929 in Murray Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her longtime husband Walter C. Franke, and her best friend Angie (Mrs. Jim) Hansen. She worked at and retired from Ford Motor Company, Dearborn Michigan. She was the very first woman to work in the computer room there. She did many volunteer hours with both John C. Lincoln hospital in Phoenix and Yavapai Medical Center in Prescott. Virginia is survived by her daughter Jacqui (Mrs. Frederick) Velde, her grandson Brian Velde (Kellie Velde), her beloved great-grandchildren Nathan and Aiden, her sister Dorothey (Mrs. Thomas) Odell and many nieces and nephews, including Lisa Schneider and Judy Hayes. Memorials may be given to the Northland Hospice (452 N. Switzer Canyon Dr. Flagstaff, AZ 86001) and/or the Yavapai Humane Society (1625 Sundog Ranch Road, Prescott, AZ 86301). The family of Mrs. Franke wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Northland Hospice and Palliative Care, Her doctor Neil Mogk, her caring nurse Tara Caparrelli, Audrae Benale, and especially her loving granddaughter in law Kellie Velde.
