Felix Vidales, age 87, of Miami, Ariz., entered into eternal rest Saturday evening, Feb. 15, 2014.
Felix was born in Morenci, Ariz. on Nov. 22, 1926 to Felix and Refugia Vidales. He attended Morenci schools and throughout his high school years, he worked at the family business, the “Morenci Store.” He attended school in Morenci and during his senior year at Morenci High School, he was recruited by the U.S. Army Corps and was trained as a pilot.
In 1953, he married Rosamaria Dominguez from El Paso, Texas. He began his career with State Farm Insurance in 1954. He worked as an agent in Clifton, Ariz. for 12 years and was then transferred to Miami in 1967, where he completed his 40 years with State Farm. During this time, he was very active in the Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Felix was also an avid golfer.
Felix and Rosamaria were married just shy of 50 years before her passing in May of 2006. They are survived by their seven children; Felix Vidales Jr. of Gilbert, Ariz., Danny Vidales and wife Gloria of Mesa, Ariz., Margo Arnason and husband Kim of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Naomi Reine Lowery and husband Dean of Safford, Ariz., Jaime Vidales of Mesa, Ariz., Leisa Forgue and husband Steve of North Pole, Ala., and Amy Cartrette and husband Don of Vail, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Mass of a Christian burial was held at Holy Hope Cemetery on Feb. 22, 2014. Services were conducted by Father John Allt.
