Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, March 6, 2014 - Alice Lorraine Pounders passed away peacefully at home Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Lake Havasu City. She was a Lake Havasu City resident since 2001 and was born in Long Beach, Calif. in 1924. She graduated from Long Beach Poly High in 1942, and in 1945 met John Pounders while he was on leave from the U.S. Navy and they married in May 1947. She was survived by her son, Ken Pounders and his wife Michelle; her daughter, Bonnie Hamilton, all residents of Lake Havasu City, and her daughter, Linda Brown and her husband Mike, of Denver. She left behind six grandchildren, Jodi, Theresa, Mark, Patrick, Andrew, Heather; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Myrissa, Justin and Nessa. Alice will be remembered for her warm and generous hospitality and love of having family and friends around her. She was quick with a smile and was known for her great sense of humor. Services will be at Lietz–Fraze Funeral Home in Lake Havasu City, today, March 6 at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu.
