HARSTINE, Donald (Don) Allen


PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz.- Donald "Don" Allen Harstine, 70, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at the V.A. Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz. Don was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Coshocton County, the son of Homer and Willma (Little) Harstine. He attended Faith United Community Church, and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 78, Sharlot Hall Museum, and the Yavapai Classic Cruisers Car Club. During his retirement, Don enjoyed traveling, and volunteering for the Disabled American Veterans as well as the Sharlot Hall Museum. He was most proud of his family and the joy they gave to him. Don is survived by his loving and caring wife of 45 years, Edythe (Sumner) Harstine; son, Allen (Sherri) Harstine of Vancouver, Wash.; daughter, Karen (Brad) Ludwick of Phoenix, Ariz.; mother, Willma Harstine of New Concord, Ohio; brother, Jack (Wanda) Harstine of Wilson, N.C.; sisters, Sandra Harstine of New Concord, Ohio, and Kay (Charles) Denhardt of Newark, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Scott, Garrett, Kristin and David. Don was preceded in death in 1990 by his father, Homer Harstine. A private cremation will be at Bradshaw Crematory, Prescott Valley. Celebration of Don's life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2005, at the Faith United Community Church, 1061 N. Old Chisholm Trail, Dewey. A private internment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Phoenix, Ariz. Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
