Frank Rick passed away in his home from natural causes.
He was born in 1930 in Aachen, Germany. He grew up during World War II and learned two trades as a roofer and tinsmith.
He came to Chicago in 1952 where he met his future wife, Christiane. Soon, thereafter, he was drafted into the Army, married Christiane in Atlanta, GA before leaving for his tour of duty in Korea. While in Korea he became a US citizen.
After his tour, he returned to Chicago and worked as a sheetmetal worker and did remodeling. In 1964 he moved his family from Chicago to Morton Grove, IL and worked as a sheetmetal fabricator.
In 1974, he moved his family to Flagstaff where he learned Real Estate Property Management and built several homes.
Frank was self-educated and loved to read. He was a devoted family man. His life was about caring for his wife, children, and family members.
He is preceded in death by his son, Rainer and mother.
He leaves behind his wife, Christiane; son Jack (Phoenix); daughter Lina Wombacher (Bloomington, IL). Two grandchildren Jennifer (Jim) Sikes and Ryan Wombacher. Two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Molly Sikes. Sister Paula (Kurt) Herzog and nephews Frank and Robert Herzog (Canada).
Interment will be private.
A memorial gathering will take place at his residence 2953 N. Hemberg on Monday March 3rd, from 2-4 p.m. Memories and condolences can be shared with his family at www.norvelowensmortuary.com
