Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, March 9, 2014 - Barbara Ruth Keith of Lake Havasu City, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff, Calif. with her daughter at her side. She was 75 years old. She is once again reunited with the "true love of her life and best friend" Rob. Barbara was born in Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 21, 1938 to the late Harold and Loretta (Metevia) Gunther. She attended Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic School, graduated from Arthur Hill High School and worked as a nurse’s aide at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital. She married James Jensen in 1960, settled in San Jose, Calif. and raised three beautiful children. James predeceased her in 1975. She later married Robert Glenn Keith in Las Vegas, Nev. in 1984. They lived in Cupertino, Calif. until moving into the dream home they built together in Lake Havasu City in 1989. Robert predeceased her in 2009. After achieving a significant weight loss goal, Barb joined the Weight Watchers team. She enjoyed counseling and inspiring others in their journey to better health. Barb kept in touch with friends and family through email. The love and laughter she “forwarded” with her letters and jokes will not be forgotten. Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Wright (Pete Meza) of Red Bluff, Calif.; two sons, Kenny (Judy) Jensen of Largo, Fla. and Mark Jensen of San Jose, Calif.; grandson, Jacob Wright of Red Bluff, Calif.; brother, James (Kathleen) Gunther of Freeland, Mich.; and four-legged friend, Molly. Barb also leaves behind many friends, especially those who were part of the Neighborhood Watch group that she and Rob belonged to for 15 years. Barb was preceded in death by her younger brother, Dale Gunther. A private memorial service will take place at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
