Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Friday, March 14, 2014 - Bonnie Ferris Spence, 87, passed away March 6, 2014 at home in Lake Havasu City with her family at her side. She was born in Ortonville, Mich., Sept. 20, 1926, to Cora and Harold Davies. Bonnie grew up in Michigan, moved to California in her early 20’s to raise her two young children. She later married Neil Ferris and worked many years as a credit manager before retiring and moving with Neil to Lake Havasu City in 1989. Neil passed away in 1996. Bonnie later met Bill Spence, and they were married in 1998. Bill has been the love of her life and they enjoyed many years of traveling in their motor home throughout the country. They especially enjoyed spending their summers in Moses Lake, Wash. Bonnie was a very generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She participated in and donated to many organizations and charities. She loved her family, loved family gatherings, dancing, traveling and all kinds of animals, especially her beloved cats. Her sweet smile and caring presence will be missed by all. Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Bill; two children, daughter Diane Bowlin of Lake Havasu City and son Larry (Jan) Poch of Corona, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Jim (Kim) Poole, Jeffrey (Giliane) Poole, Jonathan (Brittany) Poole, Keri Poole, Jason (Elizabeth) Poch, Kevin (Kim) Poch and Kimberley (Mario) Villaseñor; 14 great-grandchildren; special niece, Karen Kelsey and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Neil Ferris; parents, Cora and Harold Davies; sisters, Rosella Harvey and Virginia Polda and brothers, Bill Davies and Fred Davies. Per her request no services will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Beacon of Hope Hospice, 500 N. Lake Havasu Ave, #B106, Lake Havasu City, AZ. 86403, or to an animal charity of your choice.
