Antonio Baca Pena, 91, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at his home in St. Johns. He was born June 28, 1922, in St. Johns, the son of Amado Tibo and Patricia Baca Pena.
Antonio served his country in the United States Army from 1944-46. He worked in construction, retiring in 1987. His favorite hobbies included gardening, going to swap meets and dancing with his forever love.
He is survived by his wife, Agripina Gurule Pena of St. Johns; sons: Mike T. Pena of Glendale, Joe Pena of Peoria; daughters: Helen Pinela, Carolyn Tellez, Pabla Cruz Trujillo, all of St. Johns; sisters: Beatrice Pena Chavez, Mary Pena Jaramillo; 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Antonio was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Gilbert Pena, Eduardo Pena, Amado B. Pena, Adelia Maesta, Cipriana Montoya; and children Patricia Pena and Lorenzo Pena.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 21, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns, with visitation one hour prior. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Interment will follow the Mass at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
