RAMIREZ, Manuel Jesus


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 Ramirez, Manuel Jesus of Chandler, Ariz. passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the age of 90. He was born in Miami, Ariz. to Juan and Maria de Refugio Ramirez on Christmas Day, 1923. Manuel was a proud Veteran, having served with the Army in WWII with tours in the Aleutian Islands, North Africa, Belgium and France. Following his return; he met and married the love of his life, Angelina Serna, and together, they nurtured and led a family of five children for 61 years; most of those years living in Miami. He was a man of strong faith with equally strong commitment to family and friends. His large family has the legacy of preserving many endearing memories of a lifetime of shared time together and his loving support of those in need. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Angie; a son, John (JoAnn) and daughters Bette McGuire, Rose Ann Avila (Tony), Mary Shreve (Rick) and Margaret Lovato (Paul); with 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. A Visitation will be held, Thursday, March 27th from 5 to 8 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Mortuary, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85204. The Mass of Christian Burial is set for Friday, March 28 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 230 W. Galveston, Chandler, AZ 85225. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
