Vining Funeral Home, Safford, Arizona Tim Kay Nottingham April 8, 1962 ~ March 20, 2014 Tim Kay Nottingham, age 51, of Thatcher, was surrounded by his family in St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico, while he made the transition into Heavenly Fathers presence on March 20, 2014. Tim was born on April 8, 1962 in Tucson, Arizona, the son of J.R. and Margaret Nottingham. His early childhood was in Mesa, and his high-school years were in Thatcher. He served as a full time missionary for his church. Tim was an educator and occupational therapist assistant, with an amazing love for the children that he taught. He was a steadfast ASU fan who loved to play all kinds of sports as well as hunting and fishing. Tim touched the lives of all those who knew him. His numerous, varied, and particularly strong friendships span the entire country. His teasing and general orneriness will be greatly missed. Tim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had honorably served a mission in the Spokane Washington Mission. Tim is survived by: his mother, Margaret Nottingham, of Thatcher; his sister, Debbie Destin; and four nieces, Bessie Destin, M. L. Destin, and Cerce Destin, all of Bell, Florida and Shannon Dawn Bautista, of Anchorage, Alaska. Tim was predeceased by: his father, J. R. Nottingham; his Grandma and Grandpa Nottingham; Grandma and Grandpa DeSpain; five uncles, Charles, Kay, Dean, Gerald, and David; a nephew, David Holmes; and a niece, Brandy Destin. Funeral services for Tim will be conducted Saturday afternoon, March 29, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at the Thatcher L.D.S. Stake Center by Bishop Jonathan Sanders of the Thatcher Fourth Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Thatcher Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, March 28, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., at the Thatcher L.D.S. Stake Center Relief Society Room.
