Betty J. Kimball passed away March 24, 2014.
Betty was a native of Wisconsin. She graduated as an honor student from Beloit High in 1936. She and husband Robert L. Edwards moved to California in 1943. She joined W.T. Grant Co. in 1948 and assisted opening 15 new stores including two in Phoenix. In 1964, she accepted a position at U.S. MCAS, El Toro, Calif., in accounting and auditing commissary with reports to various government offices.
She was involved in the Women's Business Sorority for the City of Hope Cancer Drive, a member of American Military Comptroller Society, Women's Masons Lodge, during her working years in California, and Senior Casa lifetime member in Prescott Valley, Ariz.
Betty retired in 1980 and moved with husband Tom Thompson to Sun City, Calif. In 1990, they moved to Prescott Valley, where Tom passed suddenly in 1991. Betty met and married Allen Kimball in 1996; he passed in 2009.
During her 96 years, Betty enjoyed certain sports, music, dancing, nature, travel and family and friends.
Betty is survived by two sons, Dennis Edwards and Gary Edwards (Janet); daughter-in-law Norma Edward; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several extended family members. She was preceded in death by son Robert (Bob) Edwards in 2008, and daughter-in-law Nancy Edwards.
Services will be private at Heritage Precious Memorial Rose Garden in Dewey, Ariz.
