The Payson Roundup, Payson, Arizona, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 Regina “Gina” Messner March 26, 1968 - March 15, 2014 Regina “Gina” Messner, 45, passed away on March 15, 2014 in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born on March 26, 1968 in Phoenix to Louis Ash and Angelina Shields. Gina grew up in Phoenix, until moving to Payson when she was 18, where she was a resident for 25 years. She attended both Central High School and Payson High School. Gina had a huge heart and was always there to help others, which is one reason she was loved by so many people. Everyone loved her bubbly personality and contagious (sometimes obnoxious) laugh. Gina worked as a waitress at many of the restaurants in Payson including Mario’s, El Rancho, the 260 Cafe and Tiny’s. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Brittany, and playing with her beloved dogs, Nova and Crooke. Gina was preceded in death by her mother, Angelina Shields; father, Louis Ash; and her grandparents, Marvin and Clara Shields. She is survived by her fiancé, James Lee; her daughter, Brittany; her aunt, Cheryl Shields; and many cousins. The family would like to invite all that loved Gina to attend a service at Tiny’s Restaurant, 600 E. Highway 260, Payson, at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 30. Donations can be made to Gina’s daughter, Brittany, to help with service expenses.
