DROLL, Larry Burton


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 03/28/2014 Larry Burton Droll, 76, of Phoenix and Pinetop died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, after a 22-year battle with cancer. He was born July 29, 1937, in Ina, Ill., grew up in southern Indiana, and after a tour in the Navy, moved to Arizona, where he was employed by Motorola for 35 years. Larry loved the game of golf and spent most of his life playing, teaching and watching it with his family and friends. He will always be remembered as a loving, caring and giving father, husband and friend to many. He was a true family man that enjoyed and embraced his life completely. He is survived by his wife, Carri Tatro Droll; former wife Jan Droll; sons: Michael Droll (Rachael) and Randy Droll (Laura); daughter Cathy Droll (Bob); stepdaughter Stephanie Manahl (Dana); stepson Michael Tatro, MD (Mary); sister Barbara Dockery; brothers: Bill Droll (Jean), Ronnie Droll (Linda) and Donnie Droll (Marilyn); and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. As he wished and in support of life, his body was donated to advance medicine through Science Care, a whole body donor program. A celebration of life is planned in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s name to the University of Arizona Cancer Center (azcc.arizona.edu/) or Hospice of the Valley (www.hov.org).
