CLARK, Juanita


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, March 28, 2014 Juanita Clark, 93, passed away in Tucson, Ariz., on March 10, 2014. Her husband Arthur Clark predeceased her in 1999. Juanita attended Southern Union Junior College in Wadley, Alabama, where she played women's basketball. For her junior and senior year, she attended and graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor's of Science in public health nursing. Years later she graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Master of Arts in education. Juanita worked as a registered nurse and as a director of nursing. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Humboldt and Chino Valley, Ariz. During her teaching years, she was a girls coach for basketball. She also taught nursing at the community college level. In addition, Juanita enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross. Juanita spent many years living and working in Prescott, Ariz., where she enjoyed many friends. Juanita was a member of the First Congregational Church. Survivors include sons Dale of Chandler and Dave of Tucson; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Family services have taken place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix where she has been laid to rest with her late husband Arthur.
