The Lord received a true angel. Douglas “Doogie” Gisel passed away, March 22, 2014 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. Doug was born April 25, 1972 in St. Paul, Minn. He grew up playing baseball, football and hockey, and enjoyed motorcycling and racing snowmobiles; anything with a motor. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings.
In August 2009, Doug and his soul mate Tina moved to Lake Havasu City, where they found their paradise. Doug enjoyed everything about Lake Havasu City, where friends became family. At the time of his death, Doug was employed by R&D Precision as a machinist and Rosati’s.
Doug is survived by his parents, Jim and Elaine Gisel of Woodbury, Minn.; brother, Tom (Erica) Gisel; niece, Carson and nephew, Rafe Gisel; his soul mate, Tina Gisel and stepchildren, Ben, Kali, Tara and Angi; grandson’s Korbyn Joe and Easton Douglas. He is also survived by his furry friend and companion Kasie, who was always by his side.
Taken too soon, he will be deeply missed by the many friends he truly considered his family.
Doug is a Havasu hero. A memorial benefit in Doug’s honor will be Sunday, April 27, 3 p.m., at B.J.’s Cabana Bar to benefit many causes true to his heart.
