KENDALL, Joseph O. (Joe)

Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Joseph Kendall January 21, 1929 - March 11, 2014 Joseph O. Kendall, born in Peoria, IL on January 21, 1929, the son of Emma and Orville Kendall, died on March 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by family in Tucson, Arizona. After graduation from high school he went to work for Caterpillar in 1949. He served in the US Army from 1950-1953. After returning to work, he married Norma R. Sutton in Peoria, IL. In 1960, Joe, Norma and their two sons were transferred to a new Caterpillar facility in Aurora, IL. During the next 26 years he was active with his sons in Little League Baseball, Junior Achievement, United Way Board and the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce. He also found time to complete a 4 year night school Management Development Course at the Aurora University in 1973. He retired with 37 years of service at Caterpillar as the Aurora Plant Purchasing Manager in 1986. Joe is preceded in death by his wife Norma of 58 years and his son Larry. He is survived by his son Ron (Linda) of Marana, AZ a daughter-in-law Jo of Vail, AZ, two granddaughters Nicole Kendall of Tucson, AZ, Michelle (Patrick)McMahon of Yorkville, IL and grandson Jess Kendall of Mackinaw City, MI along with four great grandsons Chase, Maddux, Jackson and Jacob. He was a great father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family. Private services will be at the Marana Cemetery at a later date. Final arrangements were by Vistoso Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Casa de La Luz Hospice in Tucson, AZ or a charity of your choice.
