GUY LIGON RANDALL

GUY LIGON RANDALL, age, 66 of San Carlos, Arizona passed away on March 26, 2014 at his residence in San Carlos.
He was born in Miami, Arizona on May 22, 1947 Guy , the son of Alfonso and Frieda Randall live his entire life in Arizona.
He worked as a squad boss for the BIA Forestry department.
He served his country proudly in the Army during the Vietnam conflict. Guy was an avid reader, he worked for a time on his grandfathers ranch as a ranch hand, was one of the first firefighters in San Carlos, worked for Miami Inspiration Copper Company, was a juvenile probation officer and worked for Jacquay Asbestos mines.
Guy is survived by 5 daughters; velda Randall-Al-Ensaif, Laura Kindelay, Flora Talas, Nina Bendle and Marcella Burshia and his son David Randall Young
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Gilson Wash Baptist Church with interment in the San Carlos Cemetery

Guy passed away at his home on Wednesday, March, 26, 2014 in San Carlos. He was born on May 22, 1947 in Miami, Ariz.
He was born to Alfonso and Frieda Randall and raised by his Aunt Louise. He fondly called her mom. He was preceded by his parents, Aunt Louise, an older infant brother, his son David, and companion Marie. Visitation was Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral service immediately followed at Gilson Wash Baptist Church with Military service at San Carlos Veterans Cemetery.
Guy is survived his sister, Sarah Randall Early; five daughters, Velda Randall Al-Ensaif (Jovi Sign) of Tucson, Ariz., Laura Kindelay (Sherwin Dawson), Flora Talas (Algene), Marcella Burshia (Orville), and Nina Bendle (Virgil) of San Carlos; and Aunt’s children, Pearlina Smith (Ronald) of Phoenix, Toleman M. Casey, Berdina GreyBull (Byron, and Emogene Casey, all of San Carlos. Nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered by his family as an avid reader, rummy champ, and playing his guitar. As a young teen he played in the Statics band with his classmates. He also tried teaching his siblings and grandchildren in playing the guitar. Guy volunteered and served in the US Army and Reserve and was a Specialist 4.
He served in Vietnam from 1966-1968 and completed his basics at Ft. Bliss, Texas and transferred to Ft. Lewis, Wash. While at Ft. Lewis, he and his Army buddies decided to go on the “buddy system” and volunteered to go to Vietnam, however, upon arrival were detailed and assigned to different divisions; he was assigned to engineer. He was Honorably discharged from Fort Holabird, Maryland. In the mid 1970s he contracted Malaria and was told it was related to his service time.
Guy was a dedicated babysitter and called upon, at times at last minute but never turned anyone down. He loved children and always had snacks readily available for them. He fondly called his grandson “Coco” and nephew “Coconut” and only he could call them by their special nicknames. When his twins were prematurely born and brought home from the hospital, he improvised and used a shoebox as their crib until they grew out of it.
Guy acquired his unique name after his physician, Dr. Guy Ligon, as his mom had limited English and had problems understanding the medical staff. Guy was employed for various entities, such as Miami Inspiration Consolidation Copper Co., BIA Forestry, Tribal Maintenance, BIA Roads, Juvenile Officer, and Jacquay Mine.
He will surely be missed by his family and friends.
