WILLIAMS, Estefana (Fannie)

(Maiden Name: Trujillo)

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Tuesday, April 01, 2014 Estefana “Fannie” Trujillo Williams passed away in San Pedro on March 16, 2014 at the age of 89. She died peacefully in comfort surrounded by her family. Fannie was born on Dec. 26, 1924 in Miami, Ariz. She was the daughter of Jose and Feliciana Trujillo. In 1941, at the age of 17 she spent two of her summer vacations in San Pedro living with her aunt Toni. She worked at Bethlehem Steel on Terminal Islands cleaning boats for war ships. In 1945 she married the love of her life, Gilbert Williams in Miami. They stayed for six months. In 1946 they moved to San Pedro, where they had two children, Esther and Gilbert. Fannie worked actively in the interest of children, all during the time her own children were growing up. She was a former president of Barton Hill PTA and received an Honorary Life Membership Award. As a sports enthusiast she was one of the founders of the Cabrillo Bay League Championship Baseball Team, of which her son Gilbert was a member. Because of her versatility, she not only organized the parents, but she also worked the concession stand. Fannie is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gilbert Williams; her brothers, Jimmy and Leo; and her sister, Jenny. She is survived by her daughter, Esther (Lloyd) Cale; her son, Gilbert (Georgine) Williams; her grandchildren, Paul (Norma) Rivera, and Nick and Jeff (Stephanie) Lomeli; her loving brothers, Manuel (Irene) Trujillo and Tommy (Ayissa) Carbajal; sister, Lucille (Marion) Gonzales; brothers-in-law, George (Josephine), Dave (Bea) Eddy Williams; sisters-in-law Margret Trujillo and Bonnie Williams; and many nieces, nephews and her little dog Trixie. We would like to thank the staff at Seacrest Convalescent Nursing Home and St. Luz Hospice for their wonderful support and care. A mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 3 at Holy Trinity Church. A private service will be on Friday, April 4, at Riverside National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
