Arrangements by Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Arizona Ann Theresa Valentine May 22, 1936 ~ April 1, 2014 Ann Theresa Valentine, 77, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at her home in Prescott, AZ. She was born May 22, 1936 in Chicago, Il; the daughter of George “Bud” Valentine and Evelyn (Kalck) Bjerke. Ann was a loving mother, who took considerable pride in her three children and six grandchildren. Spending time with her family and pets brought her great joy. She also enjoyed travel, genealogy, old movies, jazz, collecting dolls, creating jewelry, sculpting and painting. To many in her family, she was also known as "Sis." She will be greatly missed by all. Ann is survived by her children; Cynthia (Michael) Moore, Victoria (Mark) Carr, and Michael Valentine; grandchildren; Emily, Alexandra, Nicholas, Jared, Justin, and Michaela; siblings; John (Judy) Bjerke, Karen (Peter) Altmann and Kay Todd (Christopher Hippensteel); and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; George and Evelyn, her brother Robert (Joyce) Bjerke and her sister Kathryn (Irving) Kroll. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Ann's primary caregiver this last year, Becky Comeaux and a special thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice. "Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever." Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Good Samaritan Hospice.
