The Payson Roundup, Payson, Arizona, Tuesday, April 01, 2014 Larry Dean Cory October 21, 1948 - March 22, 2014 Larry Dean Cory died March 22, 2014 in Payson. He was born Oct. 21, 1948 in Chehalis, Wash. to Willard and Bernice Cory and spent his entire childhood in Chehalis. He graduated from W.F. West High School in 1966. After attending the University of Washington, Larry served in the U.S. Army for five years and later relocated to California to work in the computer technology industry. It was in southern California that Larry met his wife, Donna, and they raised two sons. In 2005, Larry and Donna moved to Star Valley to prepare for their retirement years. Larry loved the Rim Country, where he hiked, fished, remodeled their home, tended his fruit trees and garden and worked nights at Walmart. Larry served on the governing board of Hellsgate Fire District for almost five years. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna; son Nick and wife Cory; son CJ and wife Amy; grandson Benjamin and several cousins. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 901 S. Westerly Rd.
