The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, April 06, 2014 David C. Samuels, 82, of Prescott, Ariz., died March 31, 2014, in Prescott. He was born Oct. 30, 1931, in Oak Park, Ill., to Milton E. and Olive Gayle (Porter) Samuels. Mr. Samuels attended J. Sterling Morton High School in Cicero, Ill., and Hamline University. He served in the U.S. military, and retired from a career in banking in 1996. He spent more than 50 years in barbershop singing, and his special interests were computers, spectator sports and genealogy research. He was chief financial officer for the First Church of the Nazarene in Prescott. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Helffrich Samuels; daughters Karen (Pete) Dahlgren and Jeanne (Robert) Davis; sons Jon (Denise) Samuels and Scott Samuels; grandchildren Kristin, Scott and Ryan; and great-granddaughter Chloe Grace. Services will be 1 p.m. April 8, 2014, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2110 Willow Creek Road, Prescott.
