Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona, Wednesday, April 09, 2014 Manuela Caldera passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Tucson, Ariz. surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 15, 1924, in Benson, Ariz., she was the seventh of 12 children born to Paola Lopes Amarrillas. Manuela married the love of her life, tall dark and handsome, Edward Caldera in 1942 shortly after he was drafted into the Army during WWII. She was a devoted wife to her late husband and a fiercely protective mother to her six children; Delia, Francisco (Donna), Socorro (Richard), Edward Jr (Norma), Clara and Robert. She is preceded in death by her sons, Richard Angel and Richard David, who were both lost during their infancy. Manuela was grandmother to 14 grandchildren; she is survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
