McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel, Safford, Arizona Ruth Jean Parsons December 16, 1927 - April 8, 2014 Ruth Jean Parsons, 86 of Thatcher, passed away April 8, 2014 at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center. Ruth was born December 16, 1927 in Dover, Ohio to Albert and Bertha Yenni Welshenbaugh. Growing up, Ruth was her daddy’s favorite and spent much time with him around the farm. After high school, she married Ralph Parsons, who knew she was the one for him, and they had two children, Catherine “Kitty” Grove and Roy “Rocky” Parsons. Ralph was a police officer and they lived in Silver City and Thatcher. Ruth loved planting and growing flowers and spending time in the garden. No one was a stranger to her, as she loved people, especially the children and grandchildren. She was even known for a game of basketball with them. Ruth was a big fan of the McDonald’s dollar menu. Ruth was a neighbor to many in Daley Estates and most of them became like her family. Ruth will be missed by many and is survived by her grandchildren, Rhonda (Scott) Heddinger of Illinois; David (Donna) Grove of Morenci, Eddie (Sandra) Grove of Safford, Troy Parsons of Ohio, and her dear friend, Cheryl Wilson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Parsons; and her children, Catherine Parsons Grove and Roy “Rocky” Parsons. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Relief Society Room at the Thatcher LDS Church Street Chapel with Bishop Griffin officiating.
