Prescott, Apr. 14--Funeral services for Grant Carter, 70 years 67 years, who was fatally injured Tuesday night in an automobile accident on U.S. Highway 89 near Desert View, will be held at 2pm tomorrow from the Ruffner Mortuary here.
Burial will be made in the family plot at Walnut Grove.
At the time of the accident, Mr Carter was returning alone from Phoenix after attending the opening day of the annual Arizona Pioneers Reunion. His car and a truck collided.
A native of Kansas, he came here at the age of three years and for many years engaged in the cattle business in the Kirkland Valley.
Some years ago he was a familiar figure at the annual Frontier Days rodeo here, as a contestant in riding and racing events. He served as deputy sheriff for five years under the late Warren Davis, sheriff.
Surviving are two sons, Earl of Kirkland and Howard (sic: Harvey) of Prescott; a daughter, Mrs Ursula Stuart of Kirkland; two sisters, Mrs Joe Carter of Tempe and Mrs Orville Glenn of Bakersfield, Calif; and two brothers, Charles of Congress and J.O. of Walnut Grove.
