Copper Country News, Globe, AZ Wednesday, April 16, 2014 Joann Alexander, age 77, passed away in the comforts of her home surrounded by her family in Central Heights on Sunday, April 6. Joann was born July, 15, 1936 in Hemet, Calif., the daughter of Lee and Edith Witten of Hemet, Calif. Joann and her husband of 61 years moved to Globe in 2007 from Hemet, Calif. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on March 28 with closest family. Joann is survived by her husband, JD Alexander; son, Lee Alexander (Donna), Diane Armbruster (Fred) of Hemet, Calif. Cheryl Herbst Sands of Hemet, Calif.; two sisters, Wanda Pricer of Grass Valley, Calif. and Beverly Offenberger (Paul) of Hemet, Calif.; two brothers, Ed Witten of Florence, Oregon and Jerry Anderson of New York; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Judy Alexander of Globe, Ariz. and Pauline Cooper of Hemet, Calif.; granddaughters, Corrie Adams (Eric) of Kingman, Ariz., Erin Hansen (Dave) of Branford, Conn., Hailey Armbruster of Hemet, Calif., Cassidy Roldan (Victor) of El Central, Calif. and Alex Herbst of North Dakota; three great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Carly Gilgen of Kingman, Ariz. and Owen Hansen of Branford, Conn. Joann loved shopping for and collecting antiques. But most of all she loved being around her family, especially the grandchildren. Joann had a heart of gold when it came to helping people. She touched the hearts of many. Her family and friends will miss her.
