Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on April 16, 2014 - Shirley Carlill, 73, of Kingman passed on to be with our Lord on April 12, 2014. Shirley was born in Phoenix on February 28, 1941, to Harold and Clara (Wilson) Ransford. Shirley attended school in Golden, Colo., and in the fourth grade she met the love of her life, Gary M. Carlill. They were married on October 1, 1959, in Parker Colo. They were married for 54 wonderful years. Shirley was a stay at home mom while their children were young. When Shirley joined the work force she had multiple responsibilities running different family owned businesses, property management, office management, certified EMT and a Realtor. Shirley enjoyed all kinds of outdoor activities with her family, including waterskiing, motorcycle riding, horseback riding, camping, boating and fishing. She took great joy in her family, home, gardening, genealogy, amateur radio operating, reading and watching Bronco football games. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Martin Carlill. She is survived by her husband, Gary of Kingman; two sons, Gary L. (Maria) Carlill of Kingman, Scott Carlill of Florence, Ariz.; her daughter, Shari (Brett) McMurry of Loveland, Colo.; six grandchildren, Ransford of Okeechobee, Fla., and Matthew, Michael, Ashley, TJ, and Gary of Phoenix. Also surviving are an uncle, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18 at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave.
