The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, April 19, 2014 Janet Mae (Darnauer) McKee passed away peacefully and with family on April 11, 2014, after a battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. Jan was born in Grand Island, Neb., on June 4, 1941, and was raised near Beatrice, Neb. She attended Cottonwood Country School, Beatrice Junior High, and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1958. She attended the University of Nebraska and ultimately graduated Magna Cum Laude from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. She was preceded in death by her father Henry Darnauer; mother Ida Darnauer; and brother Duane Darnauer. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bill; daughter Chele; son Bruce; daughter-in-law Wendy; and granddaughters Hannah and Sydney McKee. Jan was a talented craftswoman and artist, friend to all who knew her, a loving mother and grandmother and a faithful follower of our Lord. All who knew her will miss her smile and bright blue eyes. We know she is now willingly serving as a helper to those who she has joined in heaven and waits for us with open arms.
