John William (Bill) Brink, born on Jan. 14, 1929, in Cebu, Philippine Islands, passed away April 7, 2014. He was the son of Myron Edgar Brink and Maude Elizabeth Rice Brink.
He was a civilian prisoner of war, with his family, in Japanese POW camps in the Philippines during World War II. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Japan during the Korean War.
He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Whittier College, taught elementary and junior college in Whittier and Blythe, Calif. He was a licensed pilot. He moved to Prescott in 1993, where he was a docent at Sharlot Hall, the Smoki Museum and the nature center. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the NRA.
Services begin with a rosary at 10:15 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury St., Prescott. The committal service with military honors will take place at the Prescott National Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.
