AVEY, William Henry

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, April 26, 2014 William Henry Avey, 86, was born in Rocky Hill, Ark. He resided in Arizona for 55 years. Mr. Avey passed away at home Monday, April 21, 2014, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease. Mr. Avey taught school in Arkansas; Ray, Ariz.; and Holbrook, Ariz. He was a member of the Heights Church in Prescott, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Ray Avey; mother Maggie Alma Doshier; and brother Judson Avey. He is survived by his wife, Lynda C. Avey of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; children James Ray Avey of Marysville, Wash., and Janet (Danny) Bolton of Brownwood, Texas; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. No funeral or memorial services; ashes to be spread at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to arizonahospicefoundation.org. Arrangements by Angels Cremation and Burial.
