Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Genevieve "Eva" Gutierrez (January 22, 1924 - April 23, 2014) Genevieve "Eva" Gutierrez of Flagstaff, AZ, passed away in peace in Phoenix, AZ and was ushered to the Lord, April 23, 2014, at the age of 90. She was born in Cuba, NM, January 22, 1924 to Pelegrino and Paublita Lovato. Genevieve was married to Lorenzo Gutierrez for 56 years. She proudly served and went to St. Pius Catholic Church, worked as teacher for Head Start, attended Northern Arizona University and volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul. She, together with Lorenzo, raised eight children. She was a strong woman who has left a legacy of perseverance, faith, love and devotion to family. She is survived by her sister Dorella Soto (Ray); sons Robert (Denise); Rudy (Cindy); and daughters Lucille Castillo (Enrique); Cathie Sandoval (Ruben); Lena Pittman (John); MaryAnn Wilson (Dennis); Pauline Gutierrez, along with 18 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lorenzo, son Richard, brothers Archie (Margaret); Arsenio and sisters Mary, Estella and Ida. Genevieve will be greatly missed by all who loved her. The visitation and Rosary will be held, Sunday, May 4th at 7:00 P.M.at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. The Mass will be held on Monday, May 5th at 10:00 A.M.at San Francisco de Asis, 1600 E. Route 66/Ponderosa Parkway. Following the Mass the interment will be celebrated at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
