Former Flagstaff resident Janet (Jan) Eubank passed away on April 18, 2014 in Pasadena, California at the age of 80. She was born in Oakland, California and lived in the bay area until her marriage.
Jan attended the University of California –Berkeley where she met her husband John. She later earned her BFA at California State University in Bakersfield while raising her family.
Jan was known for her artistic skills as a weaver and quilter and was an active volunteer helping install exhibits at the Coconino Center for the Arts. She served as Arizona’s state representative for the Weavers Guild at national symposiums. Jan used her master gardener certification to design and install a garden at her mother’s nursing home and was especially proud of a redwood tree now almost two stories tall that she planted as a seedling in her Flagstaff front yard.
She is survived by her husband, John Eubank, daughter Susan Eubank, son-in-law Paul Martin, granddaughter Elisabeth Eubank, all of Pasadena and son David Eubank of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Other family members include her brother Thomas Reynolds of San Jose, California, sisters Margaret Van Cleve of Flagstaff, Gayle Ackles of Fresno, California and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Springville, California.
