Arizona Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory August 7, 1903, page 1, column 5 Death Of Mrs. Farren Mrs. John Farren died at her home in Prescott this morning at 3 o'clock, from injuries received last Sunday afternoon in a runaway accident between Prescott and Granite Dells. Mr. and Mrs. Farren were on their way to Granite Dells to spend the afternoon and in attempting to pass a buggy on the road, the rode too high up on an embankment throwing Mrs. Farren out of the buggy and the horse became frighten and began to plunge and jump and finally stepped on her crushing in her side, from the effects of which she died as above stated. Mrs. Farrell is well know to nearly every one in this section, having lived in what is known as the Half Way house between Prescott and Fort Whipple for the past twenty one years. Her first husband, Tommy Long, died some five or six years ago, and she was married to Mr. Farren about two years ago. She was a good hearted woman and had many friends. She was 55 years of age. The funeral will take place on Sunday. The remains will be taken from the late residence of deceased at 1:45 p.m. and services will be held at the Catholic church at two o'clock. Mrs. Farren was thrown from the buggy and stepped on by the horse, having several of her ribs crushed in. She was 55 years of age and had lived in this section for nearly a quarter of a century. She had warm friends no only allover this section, but throughout the territory, all of whim will deeply regret her untimely death. The funeral will take place from the Catholic church at 2 p.m. today. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend.
