The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 05/09/2014 Vera Cruz Lupe October 3, 1935 - May 3, 2014 In loving memory of Vera Cruz Lupe. She entered the gates of heaven May 3, 2014. First lady of the White Mountain Tribe for 32 years. She was born Oct. 3, 1935. Vera is survived by her husband of 58 years, Tribal Chairman Ronnie Lupe; her children: Jackie Lupe, Geraldine Lupe, Caroline Lupe, Vonda and Ryan Larzelere, Monte and Meldena Lupe; 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; one sister Eva Lupe and brother Patrick Cruz, along with many nieces and nephews and five god-daughters. She was preceded in death by her son, Titus Monte Lupe. All Tribal dignitaries, gospel singers and speakers are welcomed. A two day wake began at 10 a.m. May 8 at the Lupe residence (205 No. 5th Ave.) in Whiteriver. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the high school activities center in Whiteriver. Burial will follow at the Dove Cemetery in East Fork.
