Rita Ernestine Timmerman died peacefully Sunday, May 4, 2014, at her home in Show Low. She was born Nov. 14, 193 the loving daughter of Ralph Armijo and Elvira Martinez.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred V. Leyba, brother Ralph, sisters Rose and Stella and granddaughter Christina Marie Lucas.
She was loved dearly by her husband of 23 years, Frank Anthony Timmerman of Show Low.
Rita is survived by her daughters: Hilda Munoz and Frances Lucas (Michael) of Albuquerque, N.M.; son Fred West (Tiffany) of Michigan; grandchildren: Charles Lucas (Delilah), Christopher Lucas (LeeAnna), Michael Lucas, Stephanie Lucas and Nicole Lucas, all of Albuquerque, N.M.; great grandchildren: Jade Lucas, Syndel Lucas, Cody Komadina, Logan Lucas and Talon Lucas, all of Albuquerque, N.M.; great-great grandchildren: ScarlettLucas-Fautale, of Albuquerque. In addition, Rita had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Appreciation is expressed to the wonderful people that provided her hospice care and to her care giver, Mark Wancura, who provided many months of love and tender care. Rita was not a member of any church, but she had a strong faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ and a firm knowledge that she would be greeted by her loved ones on the other side of the veil.
Rita had a great love for all of her family, she was an amazing cook who owned and operated numerous restaurants in Albuquerque, she had a tremendous sense of humor, she loved music and singing, old movies, mountains, and helping others less fortunate. Rita has been cremated and her family has already celebrated her great life on this earth.
