The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, May 09, 2014 Audrey Mae McGahey, 82, of Chino Valley, Ariz., passed away May 6, 2014, after a short illness. Mrs. McGahey was born in 1931, to George and Elsie Mae Yerkes (née Boalich), in Englewood, N.J. The Yerkes family originally immigrated to the Province of Pennsylvania about 1699 and settled in the Philadelphia area. Audrey's ancestors are listed in "The Lineages of Members of the National Society of Sons and Daughters of Pilgrims." They later served in the Pennsylvania Militia during the American Revolution and with the 15th Pennsylvania Calvary during the Civil War. During WWII, her family relocated to Los Angeles, Calif., where she subsequently met and married her husband of 60 years. She is survived by her husband, Thomas McGahey; children Richard of Colorado, Donald of Arizona, Kent of California, Lana of Arizona and Janice of Alabama; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
