Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, May 11, 2014 >>> Karl Brown <<< >>> March 1, 1938 — May 3, 2014 <<< Karl was born March 1, 1938 in Safford, Maine to Elizabeth and LeRoy Brown. He grew up in Saco, Maine. The family moved to California in 1954. During high school, he played the saxophone in a professional jazz band. Karl got his associate degree in art from Compton College and then entered the Navy. He was stationed in Guam and learned electronics during his tour. After the service, he attended L.A. Art Center and then was hired on at Rockwell International. Karl and Dolores were married in 1963 and lived in Garden Grove. In 1964, they moved to Huntington Beach. Their first son Larry was born in 1965 followed by Gary, their second son, in 1968. The family spent many enjoyable weekends hunting, motorcycle riding, fishing and spending time together. Karl worked in electronics and technical writing and retired from Rockwell after 35 years of dedicated service. In the late 80s, Larry got married to Carol and Gary got married to Debbie. In the mid 90's they had their winter house built in Lake Havasu City. In the late 90s, they purchased property in Cliff, N.M. for a summer home. In 2008, Karl started showing the signs of dementia, which progressed and ultimately took his life. He is survived by his wife Dolores of 50 plus years, his sons Larry and Gary, their wives Carol and Debbie and eight grandchildren.
