Nancy B. Ryan, 78, of Lake Havasu City, died suddenly April 24,
2014. She was the beloved wife of the late James T. Ryan with whom
she shared 37 years of marriage.
Born in Detroit, July 5, 1935, she was the daughter of the late
Phillip and Pauline McClain. She was raised and educated in Warren,
Mich. and was a graduate of Lincoln High School.
She was married to the late William (Vito) Prano Sr., who was the
father of her children. They lived in southern California where
their children were raised.
Besides being a wife and mother, Nancy also was employed in
California as a line worker at Mattel Toy Company and later as a
supervisor at a nursing home. After her move back to Michigan, she
worked at Kmart until she retired, after which she moved to warmer
climates in Lake Havasu City.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lynn Schwarz of Marysville,
Calif.; her son, Nick (Buck) Prano of Lake Havasu City; her
daughter, Sharon Martinez of Tulare, Calif.; her son and daughter-
in-law, William and Donna Prano Jr. of Macomb Township, Mich.; her
grandchildren, Nancy, Rose, Michael, Vito (deceased), Jesse, Jesse,
Buck, Sherri, Brandon and Mitchell; her great-grandchildren, Sara,
Lestat, Valick, Lucifer, Maliky, Damion, Braylan and Braxton and
also her great-great-grandchild, Arean.
As per her wishes, there will be no service. Her remains were
donated to Science Care in Phoenix, and will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the
Salvation Army to honor her late husband’s Marine service.
