Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Donald Walter Ross (December 23, 1934 - May 12, 2014) Donald Walter Ross, 79, of Flagstaff, went to be with the Lord May 12, 2014. He was born to Lloyd L. and Frances Ross December 23, 1934 in Upton, Wyoming. Donald served in the Army for two years. He loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed most sports. Basketball and football were among his favorites, but his true love was golf. He worked for Amaco Oil Company for 25 years and was a co-owner of Win Oil Company here in Flagstaff. Donald was a member of the Elks Club. He co-founded and was first president of Aspen Valley Golf Club. He also served as NAU Skyjack president. Donald is survived by Norma Ross, his wife of 58 years, his daughter Donna (Allen) Mitchell of Cottonwood, his sister Twyla (Bob) Baxter of South Dakota, and by six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Scott and two daughters: Kim Ross and Julie Burrup. A memorial service will take place Saturday, May 17th, 2014, at 10:00 am at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, Arizona. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made in the name of Donald W. Ross to Northland Hospice, PO 997, Flagstaff, AZ 86002.
